Ian McCormick
Master's Student
I completed my Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Neuroscience at Dalhousie University in 2021. My honors thesis investigated the influence of general anesthesia on the use of motor evoked potentials to predict postoperative side effects during deep brain stimulation surgery. Through my thesis and work as a research assistant with the Neuromodulation Program at Nova Scotia Health, I gained exposure to highly specialized health services. More recently, my role in Research Development at Nova Scotia Health has deepened my appreciation for the collaborative and multidisciplinary efforts required to provide effective care and the vital role that research plays in this process.
I am excited to join the HCOAL team to learn about applying innovative quantitative approaches to health systems improvement. As a lifelong Nova Scotian, I look forward to the opportunity to enhance acute stroke treatment in Atlantic Canada while developing as an implementation scientist.
